Born in Puerto Rico and now residing in Honolulu, Founder of Son D’ Hawaii Dance Company and Instructor Alberto Archilla a.k.a “Papi” was raised dancing to the rhythms of Son Montuno, Guaracha, Boogaloo, Danza, Mambo, Bomba and Plena. Through Son D' Hawai`i, he began the journey to share all aspects of "SALSA" and Latin dance, music, and culture here in Hawai`i for all to enjoy. The name Son D' Hawai`i has three separate meanings, the first "SON" as in Rhythm, "SON" as the Family and "SON" as from Hawai`i. Hence, Rhythm of Hawai`i, Son of Hawai`i, From Hawai`i. Alberto Archilla is well known for his unique style and flair. He has studied with some of the best instructors from Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, and New York. With his diverse and extensive experience in a myriad of dances, including Argentine Tango, he incorporates exceptional elements of many dances into his ongoing Bachata and Salsa L.A. Style, Workshops. His dance company represented Hawai`i at the 2nd West Coast Bacardi Salsa Congress in L.A. as well as the Bacardi Salsa Congress in Puerto Rico. Alberto is currently teaching Bachata Tango and Bachata Fusion, infused with Dominican Style in Honolulu. As the Latin “Jack-of-all-Trades,” he is the Latin Promoter at Zanzabar Night Club on Tuesday Nights and also is affectionately known as “DJ Papi,” gaining his reputation at Latin-focused venues locally and beyond. He loves to be around people who are very positive about life, dance, and overall know how to have a great time! Surfing during the day and dancing at night, Alberto Papi lives and emanates the following life principle, "We don't want to preach, though -- just make all people feel good, happy and have a lot of fun! That's what is all about! |
DJ Cee*los has been recognized by his peers for his choice of music and the ability to mix genres ranging from Bachata, Salsa, Cumbia's to Hip-Hop/R&B, Electro, and 80's Flashbacks with no sudden set-back. However, with his profound passion for dancing and listening to Bachata, he has developed an uncanny aptitude to mix Bachata music and provide for people the best mix to dance to! He has mixed at various locations throughout Southern California, including spots in Hollywood. Also, he currently performs with the renowned Bachata team in Los Angeles, Bachata Caliente. |

DJ Ronnie "KOB" currently resides in Los Angeles...young Latin DJ who specializes in music which will make you move, and grind your troubles to the floor, a melting pot of music (salsa, merengue and bachata). The main objective with music is not necessarily to play the hottest profound songs, but to let everyone he comes in contact with via music know that they're connected. Carlos Miranda. A.K.A “Carlitos Swing” Is LA's Best kept secret. He used to be a dancer of the World renown Los Rumberos and after one year of experience he went on to Seaon Stylist Dance Company. Where he began to love and experience exentric music such as Zouk, Lambada and Bachata. After he Stopped dancing professionally he started Djing, about 6 yrs ago. He began collecting music as a hobby about 10 years ago. He has played in Los Angeles Salsa Congress, San Diego Salsa Festival, Az Salsa Festival, Memphis Salsa Congress, Atlanta, and Las Vegas. His passion for Bachata began about a year ago, and now that Bachata has reached a new Era. He plans to delight all the Los Angeles Bachateros. So buckle up!!!!!! |
